Ongoing education, mentorship, and collaboration have been integral to Mindy’s professional development and specialized training, particularly in the treatment of pelvic floor disorders.

  • Acupuncture Internship with Nigel Dawes, master Kampo practitioner (2005–2007)
  • Post-Graduate Kampo Herbal Certification with Nigel Dawes (2007–2008)
  • Certification in NAET Basics I and II (2009)
  • Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture Certification with Virginia Doran at Luminous Beauty
  • Clinical work with Shelly Goldstein, cosmetic acupuncture master practitioner (2011–2013)

From 2013 to 2015, Mindy worked at Soho OBGYN alongside Dr. Debra Coady and Dr. Dena Harris. Soho OBGYN was at the forefront of helping patients with pelvic pain and pelvic floor dysfunction. During this time, Mindy worked with patients experiencing chronic pelvic pain syndrome, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, stress incontinence, and other pelvic floor issues. This experience marked the beginning of her focused commitment to pelvic health and pelvic floor physical therapy–informed care.

As a woman diagnosed with endometriosis in the early 1980s, this work was deeply personal and continues to inform her approach to reducing pain, symptom relief, and supporting patients experiencing discomfort, changes in bowel movements, frequent urination, bladder control issues, vaginal dryness, and conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome related to pelvic dysfunction.

Mindy has since become a leader and innovator in the field of pelvic acupuncture, working in a collaborative community of practitioners to support pelvic health and an overall quality of life, including for patients who may have tried other treatments without adequate relief.

From 2015 to 2017, Mindy worked at Thrive Physical Therapy, where she specialized in orthopedic and sports injury conditions. This experience further strengthened her understanding of muscles, movement patterns, and functional relationships that influence pelvic support, posture, and pelvic floor function.

Background and Approach

Before becoming an acupuncturist, Mindy spent over 20 years in the entertainment industry as a marketing executive, holding senior roles at Showtime, BMG Entertainment, CBS Fox Home Entertainment, MTV Networks, and New Yorker Films.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Amherst College and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.

In her youth, Mindy was a professional ballet dancer, an experience that informs her appreciation for body awareness, coordination, and muscular balance. Today, she is an avid yoga, Pilates, and tennis enthusiast, activities that continue to support her understanding of movement, strength, and injury prevention.

Mindy was first introduced to acupuncture in 2000 while seeking relief from chronic neck pain caused by the stress of corporate life. That experience ultimately led her to pursue acupuncture as a profession and, over time, develop her focus as a pelvic floor acupuncture specialist, helping patients reduce pain, restore function, and improve overall health, quality of life, and long-term well-being.
